I just tested it because after joining a server I usually get 70 ping with I had 90 only so soon after enabling chromium to use the media player addon.

If the server has low tickrate, high choke, poor net values, or if the client has a poor connection, connecting to a server too far, has a laggy game, or their bandwidth is being maxed out by other users in the household or them downloading something then it will increase ping.
